Causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder
No one knows exactly what causes Autism spectrum disorder, but scientists think that both genetic and environmental factors might play a role.
While autism was once erroneously believed to arise from stresses in a child’s psychological environment, modern medical evidence suggests that irregularities in the development of the brain and central nervous system give rise to the syndrome of autism. Causes of this development are diverse and may include chemical exposure, viral and genetic factors.
Many other factors are considered important. In regressive autism (child develops normally till about 1.5 year age and then regresses, loses speech and eye contact), role of MMR vaccination is highly debated. I adopted a little girl with autism. She is very aggressive. She bites, kick, hits, scratches! We’ve had her for five years. She’s 11 now. When we adopted her she was on abilify and chlonidine. After three years of no improvement we took her to an neurologist. He took her off abilify and chlonidine and put her on cbd oil. He slowly introduced her to THC. We felt it just irritated her so we stopped giving it to her. She has been drug free for 1 year. However she is not improving.
Something I forgot to mention is that she’s deaf and can not communicate outside of limited hand signs.
She is very intelligent! We have taught her how to write and read certain things. Her behavior has prevented her from learning more because when she doesn’t want to do something she will draw blood! She’s that aggressive!
We keep her very active. She loves the out doors and helping us clean the yard, if it’s her idea!

My son has autism and is 16 years old. I work very hard on vitamin supplements, a clean and organic diet in addition to homeopathy, he has so many food allergies that I make everything from scratch. His environmental allergies peak in September and vocal stimming becomes almost constant interrupting every aspect of his life. He can vocally stim all night presenting both of us from sleeping. We have been up for 3 days with just a few hours of sleep. He is highly allergic to Ragweed as well as many other inhalant allergens. I believe Ragweed is the culprit at this time. It is abundant this year and we both suffer nasal, eye, and ear infections at this time.
